GREENS AND GRAINS: FROM THE MARKET TO A MEAL WITH JASON AND DEB DESALVO

August 17 @ 6:30 am - 10:30 am

Imagine creating a meal based solely on what looks best at market? Jason and Deb DeSalvo, who own and run Cold Brook Farm in Oldwick, NJ, will be your guides on this culinary adventure! Jason DeSalvo is also an Ethos Farm to Health Board Member! Local, regenerative, organic farmers/grain growers and long time farm-to-table cooks, Jason and Deb will meet you at Ethos Farm Market to shop together for a glorious summer meal to be prepared and shared at at their farm, a mere 20 minutes away from Ethos Farm Market.

During your time with your hosts, a wide range of topics will be covered including how to compose a WFPB-SOS meal based solely on what looks best at market, the importance of small farm, local organic/regenerative agriculture for healthy, functioning food systems and sustainable economies, choosing and milling grains to make fresh pasta and how the choices we make every day in our own homes have profound effects on our health, the health of our communities, and the health of our planet.

We will shop together at Ethos Farm Market, travel the gorgeous country roads to Cold Brook Farm in Oldwick, NJ, (you will need your own transportation), tour the DeSalvo’s Certified Organic Permaculture Farm (where depending on what is looking good, we may freshly harvest some additional ingredients for our meal) and cook/eat a glorious WFPB-SOS meal which will include freshly made pasta and whatever else looks great at market and strikes our collective fancy. This will be collaborative and, hopefully, inspirational!

This class will start at Ethos Farm Market and continue at Cold Brook Farm in Oldwick, NJ and is strictly limited to six people.
